Yes! This is the very beginning. Not only that, it is the right way to learn Japanese. We need to start with the phonics and get used to the sounds of Japanese. I know from experience that learning Japanese without learning the script will eventually limit your learning potential.
My students often asked this question! I know it is challenging to learn the characters and I've made it easy with stories to help you remember. The fact is, reading will open up your language to a much wider vocabulary. Imagine learning new words every day because you can read! Also reading and writing will help you with correct pronunciation. You will always get the sounds right by learning the phonics of the characters. Trust me on this one!
As a language teacher, I know that you can't learn a language using just apps. You need a multi-modal system. For this beginners course you will start straight away with listening and speaking. You will listen and then repeat the phonics. Next up is a video instructional lesson while taking notes and drawing. This is great for visual learners. Following this will be an interactive learn and test online quiz to challenge your memory. Finally you will be writing out Japanese in a rote learning style. There is so much variety, it will keep you challenged.
In the Bundle you will have a combined total of 6 months to complete the course. Each course will have 3 months to complete once you start. The reason there is a deadline is that I really want you to finish it. It should only take you three weeks if you do a little each day. My goal is for you to complete the course so this is the motivation you need.
