In 2023 I moved to Japan alone. I went through the process to buy an Akiya and then started to renovate it. I now work in Japan as an English Teacher at a not for profit organisation. I am also working on creating Japanese Courses and helping other foreigners who want to move to Japan. Before moving to Japan, I was living in Brisbane, Australia and working as a High School Japanese Teacher. I started a YouTube channel to talk about my transition from feeling trapped in a rut to share my experiences of moving to and living in Japan. I've recently turned 50 and I am so happy to be able to connect with others who have similar interests.
As a qualified Japanese teacher I have taught both Adults and High School Students starting from very beginner right through to Senior level Japanese. I have created a number of courses and teaching methods that I believe help to improve the learning experience. As someone who also was a student of Japanese, I know how it feels to learn this Language.
You may have found me on my YouTube Channel which I started to connect with others who had similar interests. I also wanted to help others who were feeling stuck in a rut and give motivation that you can achieve your dreams and it is never too late to start something!
I have agreed to reinvest back into this channel and the community. I will only commit to collaborating with products and services that I believe are beneficial to the community.
I have a bachelors degree and a post graduate degree in Secondary Education. I specialised in Japanese Language and Study of Society.
I am sponsored by a company. I am working here on a work visa. I am able to extend this visa at the end of its term.
I can't answer that yet. I am happy living and working here for now. My adult children live in Australia and as long as I am healthy and able to travel between the two countries, I will continue to live here. I talk about this topic in this video.
After I posted a video called "Silent to Fluent" a large number of subscribers reached out to me and asked if I could teach them Japanese. I can't help everyone at once because I work during the week. So I thought making a course would be the best idea.
Great question! It was a long journey and it can be best explained in a video I recently made. Here is the link if you would like to watch it: https://youtu.be/uAMbTg_kvaQ
